Stanley Hotel, Colorado, USA

Screaming Tunnel, Niagara Falls, Canada
In the northwest corner of Niagara Falls, Ontario is a small tunnel that runs under the old Grand Trunk Railway lines. It was used originally by farmers to avoid crossing the tracks when moving livestock and goods. Now, it attracts ghost hunters.
Local legends tell of the death of a young girl by fire inside the tunnel. According to locals, anyone who stands in the middle of it with a lit match will hear a piercing scream, before the flame is blown out inexplicably.

Raynham Hall, Norfolk, England
The 400-year-old seat of the Townshend family, Raynham Hall is also the home of one of history’s most famous spectres. In 1936, Country Life magazine photographers visited the house, and returned with a photo of the Brown Lady.
According to the report published on 26 December that year, photographer Captain Hubert C. Provand and assistant Indre Shira had visited the location to take photos of the house. While at the main staircase, Shira saw a smoky form that took on the shape of a woman as it approached them, and the rest is history.
The Castle, Cape Town, South Africa
Completed in 1679, Cape Town’s Castle of Good Hope was once a replenishment station for ships on the maritime spice route from Europe to the Far East. It was also home to some folk who, it is claimed, never left.
The charming Lady Anne Barnard, as well as a soldier who hanged himself in the bell tower, and Governor Pieter Gysbert van Noodt are said to be among the eerie inhabitants. Van Noodt is said to have been cursed by one of 7 soldiers he sentenced to death. According to legend, the governor died of a heart attack that same day.
Lizzie Borden House, Fall River, USA
In 1893, Lizzie Borden was acquitted on charges of having taken an axe and given her mother 40 whacks and then, after seeing what she had done, given her father 41. Actually, truth be told, the first victim was her stepmother, and it was 18 or 19, and 11 blows, respectively.
Regardless of how many whacks killed Abby and Andrew Borden on 4 August 1892, the house in which the murders happened is now run as a bed and breakfast. As can be expected, guests have reported strange events, weird apparitions, and things that go bump in the night.
