At Lucky Nugget Casino we aren’t just about delivering tremendous casino games, we also strive to keep you in the loop regarding everything going on in the entertainment world. Here we will be looking at this summer’s biggest movie releases, and there’s a lot to look forward to!
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tells No Tales
One of the most eagerly awaited releases will see Johnny Depp return to our screens as Captain Jack Sparrow on his latest adventures at sea. Fans will also be treated to Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley returning as Will and Elizabeth Turner!
It’s the fifth instalment of the popular film and the script has been inspired by the first film, The Curse of the Black Pearl. Fortunately, this has an early release of May 26, and it’s sure to be a hit throughout the summer months.
Transformers: The Last Knight
The latest film from the successful franchise is a direct sequel to 2014’s Age of Extinction. The humans are at war with Transformers, but the key to saving the future lies with the unlikely alliance of Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) and Bumblebee among others. This sci-fi action film will leave fans gripped.
Released on June 21, that gives those of you who have not yet got into Transformers a chance to see what all the fuss is about, you won’t regret it!
War for the Planet of the Apes
Another sci-fi film that’s sure to capture the attention of the public this summer is War for the Planet of the Apes. Directed by Matt Reeves, it’s a sequel to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which took an astonishing $27m in it’s first night alone.
Scheduled for release on July 14, Caesar and the apes are in a battle against the human army that will determine the fate of their species and earth’s future.
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Surely, everyone has seen a Spider-Man film? Well, the latest is not far away. Released on July 7, this is sure to be one of the biggest box-office movies this summer. Tom Holland will play the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man and the film will also star the likes of Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr.
The task for Peter Parker is to balance his life as a superhero along with his regular high school life, all whilst dealing with the threat of Vulture. All in all, it should make for more epic viewing.
Dunkirk
Our final big movie to look out for this summer is Dunkirk, a war film centered on the Dunkirk evacuation in World War II. Known as the ‘Miracle of Dunkirk’, the evacuation saw allied soldiers leave from the beaches and harbours of France, in 1940.
The film promises to offer an intriguing insight into what it was like and is released on July 21. Tom Hardy and James D’Arcy star in the film, which also features a certain Harry Styles!
There are plenty more exciting and entertaining films set for release this summer, but these are five of our team’s favourites. Have we missed any out? Let us know in the comments below, and be sure to keep the release dates in your diary.
